CPHR Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) Accreditation Program

Overview

CPHR Canada recently introduced new paths to obtaining the CPHR designation including an option allowing graduates of an Accredited HR Program to waive writing the NKE as one of the requirements.

Accredited programs must cover at least 80% of the CPHR Competency Framework. Applicants must be a member in good standing with CPHR Manitoba.

Application for an NKE waiver must be made within one year of graduating from a CPHR Canada Accredited HR Program. Previous graduates may apply by December 31, 2017. Each accredited institution may have differing eligibility criteria. Please see chart below for more information. 

All paths to the CPHR designation require one to complete the Validation of Professional Experience.

NKE Waiver

In order to apply for an NKE waiver complete the NKE Waiver Form and return it to CPHR Manitoba by mail or email. An official transcript sent directly to CPHR Manitoba from the granting institution will also be required as proof of graduation from an Accredited Program and to ensure you have met the minimum grade requirement.

Fees

NKE Waiver fee $400 + GST

Once an NKE waiver is approved, the following fees will apply:

Non-members – CPHR Candidate Membership - $415 + GST (after December 1 - $207.50 + GST)
CPHR Manitoba Members - Membership Administration Fee* - $50 + GST

*The $50 membership administration fee covers setting up your file with CPHR Canada as a CPHR Candidate. 
 

The CPHR Post-Secondary Institution Accreditation Program is a significant step forward for the Human Resources profession. The program will recognize the knowledge gained throughout the duration of the post-secondary education program and provide a significant advantage to graduates looking to pursue the CPHR designation.
